Song Of The Day: "Boum Boum Boum" by MIKA

MIKA is looking FIERCE!
I've said this many times before: there just aren't that many great male popstars. I won't bore you with the typical examples of R&B singers like Usher or soul singers like Sam Smith who crush the game but lack the material that really hooks you in. The first singer to really capture the fun and vibrance that most female popstars naturally possess was MIKA. Winner of the BBC Sound of 2007 Poll, MIKA was like nothing we had ever heard before. Songs like Grace Kelly, Big Girl, and Blame It On The Girls show his quirky style of music, and pairing up with Ariana Grande before it was cool just proves he can stay ahead of almost any trend in pop culture (take that Zooey Deschanel).

After his rather pleasant third album came out around 2012, MIKA swerved once again to make an Italian language album, covering many classics and charting across Europe. Now that it's 2014, MIKA has decided to continue his multilingual adventure and created this new original French single "Boum Boum Boum." A euphemism that transcends language, the song shows that MIKA's voice has never sounded better than en français and the addition of the sultry female background vocals elevates the song to dizzying heights. The French Alps perhaps? Please let this be the beginning of a French language album MIKA!
