Mwah!: Dua Lipa Returns

Dua Lipa by Nicole Nadland
A popstar with a rabbit= perfect recipe

I make no exaggeration when I say that Dua Lipa is the breakout star of pop this year. She has the youthful exuberance of Zara Larsson, the relatable styling of Daya, and the effortless cool factor of Kiiara. But above all else, she makes unique and entrancing pop that is as romantic as it is haunting.

With her single "Hotter Than Hell" remaining an absolute monster of a summer pop song, Dua Lipa has released the fifth single off her self-titled debut album, which is already my favorite of 2017. It's a wonderfully titled song called "Blow Your Mind (Mwah)". That's right. MWAH.

Dua's anthem for a love song disguised as a kiss off starts off as another Lipa track with a tension filled verse followed by a powerful pre-chorus that evokes Lana at her most somber but Kelly at her most biting. But the chorus is once again the shining star.

Dua calls out her lover for not accepting her love as the gift that it is. From the casual statements of being untamable and alluring beyond your wildest dreams, you get the idea that Dua really gets her place in this ever changing world called pop. It's a song that could have easily doubled as a Rihanna single but Dua can officially add sass to her list of special skills. "If we don't fuck this whole thing up, guarantee I can blow your mind!"

That album is going to be spectacular considering the ratio of Duabangers to Duaballads is perfect just based on the singles so far.

Best Bit: Obviously the kissing "MWAH" at the end of each chorus, which she slipped into the title in a very Shania Twain parentheses genius manner.
